Get Grounded

What do you do when you've got so much stuff to do -- and you're starting to feel increasingly anxious and stressed. You need to calm down and clear your head -- quick.

Got 5 minutes?

Today, you're going to give yourself the gift of your own sexy self care, and it's only going to take 5 minutes.

Here's how you're going to do it:

Set your timer for 5 minutes. Then, take off your shoes.

For 5 minutes, you're going to get barefoot and get grounded.

When we're frazzled, stressed and anxious, we need to do something to feel more balanced. How long has it been since your feet have actually touched the earth?

Simply standing in the grass, the sand, or the dirt is a natural way for our bodies to re-balance. The pull of the earth can literally remove stress, tension and feelings of anxiety from our bodies. We feel calmer, with a renewed sense of energy.

Studies confirm that contact with the earth can lower stress hormones, normalize blood pressure, reduce inflammation and even give us some relief from things like headaches, chronic pain and insomnia.

And, it's free. All it takes is your willingness to remove your shoes and socks and get outside. Do nothing but put your feet in the earth and feel your energy get grounded, centered and supported.

I know it sounds simple and insignificant, but it's these simple acts of wellness and self care that, when done consistently, can have the most significant impact on our health and well being.

It's time to get out of your head and plant your feet firmly on the ground.

This week, try to give yourself 5 minutes of sexy self care most every day. 5 minutes of doing nothing. 5 minutes of getting grounded. You choose. Make it an intention and do your best. You're worth 5 minutes of your own time.

If you've got 5 minutes, you've got time for sexy self care. I'm gonna show you how. And you're gonna feel better -- I promise.

Share with me how you spent your 5 minutes of wellness today.

Because there's nothing more badass than taking care of yourself.
